The digital world we live in today emerged through a long creative process shaped by innovation, societal needs, and visionary thinkers. The world has become much more efficient and fast-pace, with digital information being instantly transferred from a sender to a receiver. The visionaries realized that there was a whole different way of transferring information, without the noise that analog contains, especially when sending it over long distances. There may be a static image or static noise through the phone that digital completely takes away. I am able to now send text messages across the world that instantly send with just the tap of a screen in the palm of my hand. This idea stems from using a telegraph to transfer information across long distances by using morse code to rely messages. The issue is that someone had to be on both ends of the telegraph and quickly able to identify and write down what letters were being sent. This is very time consuming and inefficient for todays standards, but back in the 1800’s this was life changing.Â
Technology comes and goes, with innovation always leading the forefront into new products and ideas that make the way we do things obsolete. However, one must always remember that the concept or idea that is now obsolete was once at the forefront, and it is a continuous line that has been accelerating as technology becomes better. It is now up to us as humans to keep up with it.Â
